Gunshots ring out at Pleasant Prairie motel, one person wounded
PLEASANT PRAIRIE (WITI) -- Police in Pleasant Prairie were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel on 118th Ave. early Sunday, December 21st for a report of eight to nine people fighting. Witnesses also indicated gunshots were heard outside of the hotel.
Responding officers made contact with numerous people who were leaving the area near the motel in vehicles and on foot. Officers also observed that several vehicles parked in the hotel lot had been damaged by gunfire.
At this point the Pleasant Prairie Police Department was made aware that a 19-year-old man was at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Pleasant Prairie being treated for a gunshot wound. It was later determined that the victim was at the Super 8 Motel.
Officers from the Kenosha Police Department, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted Pleasant Prairie officers and detectives in obtaining statements, locating evidence, and maintaining scene security while the scene was processed.
