Hales Corners police, fire officials called out to home for heating oil leak
HALES CORNERS -- Hales Corners police and fire officials were called out to a home on S. 118th Street Thursday, December 31st for a heating oil leak.
Police say the heating oil leaked out of a tank in the basement of a home, and ended up getting into the sump pump, which caused the oil to be pumped out into the street.

Crews were able to stop the oil from spreading to culverts, drainage or sewage systems.
No evacuations had to take place, and no injuries were reported.
The oil was cleaned up -- and there was no harm to the environment.
The call for this incident came in around 4:30 p.m.
The scene was cleared shortly after 6:30 p.m.
