Headed to Indy to watch the Badgers play in the Final Four? Make a travel game plan!

INDIANAPOLIS (WITI) -- Wisconsin Badgers basketball is all the buzz as Wisconsin prepares to hit the hardwood Saturday evening, April 4th in Indianapolis. If you’re gearing up to hit the road for the NCAA Final Four, be ready for plenty of company. Three of the four tournament teams are from universities within a five-hour drive of Indianapolis. Factor in the Easter weekend travel period and there will be a large amount of traffic on the regional interstate systems.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is working with the Illinois and Indiana Departments of Transportation to remind Badgers fans to plan ahead and be prepared for possible traffic delays or backups in work zones. Some interstate lane restrictions will be in place. Be watchful for work zone signs and electronic message boards with important travel information.

Be an informed and educated driver by using the travel information resources provided through the Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana DOTs.

No matter where you’re heading this weekend, if you do come across work zones, WisDOT reminds you to slow down; increase your travelling distance; watch for lane changes; avoid distractions; and move over for highway maintenance vehicles, along with emergency vehicles and tow trucks.
