Heartbreaking: Armed robbery suspects snatch woman's five-month-old puppy!
MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- An armed robbery ends with a stolen, five-month-old puppy, and now, Mount Pleasant police need your help.
Police on Saturday evening, August 23rd -- shortly after 8:00 p.m., responded to a report of an armed robbery where a suspect wielded a knife, occurring at Maryland Avenue and Oregon Street.
Police say a woman was out walking her five-month-old German Shepherd puppy when she observed a newer, red vehicle with tinted windows pull up next to her.
The woman reported two men displayed a knife and demanded money from her. When she told them she didn't have any cash on her, police say the men grabbed the puppy and got back into their vehicle.
The vehicle then fled westbound.
Police say the woman wasn't injured during the armed robbery.
Police are offering the following descriptions of the two men involved in this incident:
Suspect #1 (vehicle's passenger): A black man in his early 20s, approximately 5'9" tall, clean-shaven, with short hair. He was wearing a red hat, a dark shirt and blue jeans.
Suspect #2 (vehicle's driver): A black man in his early 20s, approximately 5'8" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.
Police say the vehicle's license plate may include the number "5" and the letter "R."
