MILWAUKEE — Giving back always feels good, but if you open your wallet and make a donation today, you can double your gift, at no extra cost. It’s all part of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s first Match Day fundraiser!
It’s a simple act of kindness that will benefit many Milwaukeeans living in poverty. “We could never keep our doors open of it wasn’t for the donations from the community,” Hope House Executive Director Ken Schmidt said.
Today, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation kicks off its first Match Day fundraiser. A total of $675,000 will be available to match donations made to any of the 19 participating charities.
“Even though winter is getting ready to end, the need is still great. Even though the recession has officially ended, the need is just as great as it ever was. This is a great way for people to help their neighbors,” Rob Guilbert with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation said.
FOX6′s partner on Match Day is the Hunger Task Force. Ending hunger is the mission of Hunger Task Force. Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. Hunger Task Force works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow.
By giving a $10 minimum gift, you can help these agencies meet the demand for their services.
You can donate online until 11 p.m. today for Match Day.
