Help make a child's dream come true, donate your airline miles to Make-A-Wish

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The limo arrives at Mitchell International Airport, and out pops Zoey Pruess and her entourage made up of her mom, dad and 3-year-old sister, Laney. The family is taking off on an exciting journey that Zoey requested, a 5-year-old girl with a life threatening condition.

And where are they going? She plans to visit with a few characters at Disney World.

"I'm going to see Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella," said Zoey.

It all started for Zoey at her wish party.

"At the wish party they told me I could go to Disney, and because I got to Make-A-Wish and my wish was to go to Disney," said Zoey.

Since then, it's been all about the trip.

"Oh my goodness, she has been talking about it a lot -- she hasn't been talking about much else," said Angela Pruess, Zoey's mom.

This 5-year-old is also looking forward to her first plane ride, and we noticed she was captivated by the escalator.

"Yes, really excited because we go up those wiggly steps to get to the plane. My favorite steps," said Zoey.

The trip is a deserving break for Zoey.

"She's been through some stressful situations and hasn't always had the opportunity to have that innocent, magical childhood that we all want for our children," said Angela Pruess.

"What I'm most thankful for is the opportunity to spend a week away from everything else, not worry about anything else," said Ryan Pruess, Zoey's dad.

The trip is courtesy of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, assisted by Airline Miles donated to the organization.

"Make-A-Wish Wisconsin grants over 300 wishes a year and 75% of those wishes require air travel. We spend half a million dollars just on air travel alone for our wishes," said Make-A-Wish Wisconsin Public Relations Manager, Forrest Doolen.

The less Make-A-Wish has to spend on airfare, the more wishes, like Zoey's, it will be able to make come true.
