"He's been busy:" Police believe suspect in Glendale bank robbery has been on a crime spree

GLENDALE (WITI) -- The pictures are so good, police say they're bad news for the suspected criminal. Glendale police are looking for a man they believe could be connected to several robberies occurring over the past week -- including one in Glendale.

Police say a man walked into the Chase Bank on Capitol Drive last Thursday, January 15th -- wanting cash. Now, police want you to take a good look at his picture, and see if you know who he is.

"He's been busy. You could call it a crime spree. That's why it's so important to get this guy off the street," Glendale Police Officer Joel Dhein said.

In the robbery of the Chase Bank, police say the suspect handed the teller a note -- demanding money.

"We were lucky enough to get a lot, a couple of very good stills of him," Dhein said.

In the photos, the man is seen at the teller window with a note in his hand. He was wearing a long, black jacket, gloves and a stocking cap.

Police say surveillance images don't get much better than this.

"For example -- I think that you or I would be probably recognize this suspect if he walked into the room right now. They are getting that clear," Dhein said.

Another angle shows a customer waiting in line as the man in black waits for his payout. Police say the man never showed a weapon, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous.

"Absolutely -- and especially when they are robbing people face-to-face -- that's obviously more dangerous than a burglary. In this case appears to be a pattern that's continuing," Dhein said.

Police say since leaving the Chase Bank, the suspect may have been involved in more crimes -- an attempted burglary at a Family Dollar store, and two other bank robberies in Milwaukee. Police are hoping to add a mugshot to the man's growing portfolio.

"There are multiple jurisdictions we have -- Milwaukee, Glendale PD, FBI. Everybody is monitoring this and helping out," Dhein said.

The latest bank robbery police believe this suspect may be responsible for happened Tuesday, January 20th on Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee. That brings the total number of crimes to four -- three occurring in one day.

North Shore Crime Stoppers are offering a reward in this case. The North Shore Crime Stoppers provide a 24 hour telephone number: 414-962-4258.
