"He's definitely a super hero:" Boy battling cancer gets a dream bedroom thanks to volunteers
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- If there's one thing a sick child sees a lot of, it's his or her bedroom. One organization is committed to making those rooms as special as possible for kids fighting illness.
"We spent yesterday painting, we had two different teams here to paint the walls and we've had this great time with us all morning," said Cathy Wolfla of Special Spaces Wisconsin.
They were preparing for a five-year-old boy named Kaiden to come home -- to a brand new bedroom. Kaiden is battling cancer. The volunteers wish they the super powers to heal him. They hope the room makeover gives him strength.
"So this allows us to give them a special place to find peace," said Wolfla.
The room was designed by Kaiden -- and funded by donations and corporate sponsors.
In the end, the real hero isn't on the wall. He's the one standing just four feet tall. Kaiden's the strongest one in the room fighting the biggest villain of them all.
"Of course yes, he's definitely a super hero," said Brooke Martinez, Kaiden's mom.
