"Hispanics for School Choice:" Jeb Bush to join Gov. Walker for event ahead of GOP Milwaukee Debate

WAUKESHA -- Officials with the group "Hispanics for School Choice" say former Florida Gov. and Republican candidate for president Jeb Bush will join Gov. Scott Walker for an event in Waukesha on Monday, November 9th -- one day before the Milwaukee GOP debate at the Milwaukee Theatre.

According to HFSC officials, the event is intended to "highlight education reforms and visit with charter and private school students and their families, who participate in the state's school choice program.

The event, set for Monday afternoon, is hosted by Hispanics for School Choice and La Casa de Esperanza.

Doors open at 3:00 p.m., and the event begins at 3:30 p.m.

It will take place at La Casa de Esperanza on Arcadian Avenue in Waukesha.



Florida Sen. Marco Rubio plans to hold a rally in Wisconsin that same day -- Monday, November 9th.

Rubio has announced he will appear in Pewaukee.

Rubio also plans to host a fundraiser on November 9th for Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and the Committee to Elect Republicans to the Assembly.

Vos and 19 other Assembly Republicans have announced their endorsement of Rubio for president.

Eight candidates will appear in the prime-time debate Tuesday, November 10th at the Milwaukee Theatre. That's the fewest of the campaign to date.

The selections were made by the financial news network based on national preference polls. Candidates had to average at least 2.5 percent or higher in the four most recent major polls conducted through Wednesday to be featured in the prime-time debate. The candidates achieving that are: Donald Trump (25.3%), Ben Carson (24.5%), Marco Rubio (11.8%), Ted Cruz (10.0%), Jeb Bush (5.5%), Carly Fiorina (3.0%), John Kasich (2.8%) and Rand Paul (2.5%).

The threshold for the undercard was 1 percent. The following candidates meet that criteria: Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum.
