Home in Town of Rubicon damaged following fire
HARTFORD (WITI) -- Hartford police and rescue along with the Dodge County Sheriff's Department responded to a house fire in the 2800 block of County Highway P in the Town of Rubicon Monday morning, November 18th.
According to officials, crews arrived on the scene around 8:30 a.m. and were able to extinguish the blaze in approximately 30 minutes.
Authorities say the lone occupant of the home was able to escape prior to the arrival of firefighters. The woman was transported to the hospital.
Fire crews were able to rescue a dog and cat from the fire.
According to authorities, the home suffered significant heat, smoke and water damage. Preliminary damage estimate is believed to be $100,000.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
