Homicide investigation: 39-year-old man died from his injuries after shooting in Racine
RACINE -- A 39-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting near De Koven Avenue and Mead Street in Racine early Sunday, July 21. In an update around 3 p.m. Sunday, police said the man died as a result of his injuries.
The Racine Police Department responded to the area for a report of someone being shot just after 3 a.m. The victim was located with a gunshot wound to his head.
The victim was transported to Acension Hospital, and then to Froedtert via Flight for Life, where he died. The man was identified as Vontrell Turner.
The investigation was ongoing -- with police seeking the shooter.
