"Honest men that will tell the truth:" Citizens react to Mike Pence rally held in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Not everyone was sold on Indiana Governor Mike Pence, as he made a campaign stop in Milwaukee on Thursday night, August 11th. It was not a particularly large crowd at the rally. Among those in attendance were die-hard Trump and Pence supporters -- while others are still trying to figure out who will get their vote in November.

At the Hilton in downtown Milwaukee, the crystal ballroom filled up with people waiting for Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence.

"I'm in this hotel today. There's no way I can't come up three flights of stairs, or go down three flights of stairs to come and see what he has to say.  said Ernie Blue.

Ernie Blue is an undecided voter.

"If he's representing Trump, how does he feel about women? How really is he going to get that wall built? How is he going to deal with foreign affairs," said Blue.

Others are already sold on the Trump/Pence ticket.

"Donald Trump and Mike Pence are honest men that will tell the truth to the American people and put money in our pockets," said David Lottich, Trump/Pence supporter.

Governor Pence took the stage at his second stop in Wisconsin on Thursday. He tried to rally people as polls show the Republican ticket is losing by double digits in the state.

"Out of all the candidates, out of the 17, he would've probably been my bottom choice, but he is the Republican candidate and I see no other choice for me to do," said Julie Heusdens, Racine voter.

At the Democratic field office in Milwaukee, State Representative LaTonya Johnson denounces the Republican presidential ticket.

"Trump and Pence would be a catastrophe for Wisconsin. Donald Trump and Mike Pence's proposal will hurt the average everyday American," said Johnson.

November will show which message resonates most.

FOX6 News was able to speak to some people after the rally. They say they were pleased with Pence's speech, and said the protests drummed up more support for Pence in the end.
