HONORED: Dodge County Sheriff's Office recognizes employees who have gone above and beyond
DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing employees who have gone above and beyond -- and Sheriff's officials say they want the community to understand the hard work and dedication these folks provide to the community.
On Saturday, February 7th, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office held a recognition dinner at Bayside Supper Club. During that recognition dinner new employees, retirements, years of service, promotions, and letters of commendation from 2014 were recognized.
Life-Saving Awards are issued to any member of the Sheriff’s Office whose actions directly contribute to saving or significantly prolonging human life. Deputy Michael Matoushek, Deputy Jaime Buelter, and Deputy Taylor Nehls all received the Life Saving Award for various incidents that occurred in 2014.
The Meritorious Service Award is for outstanding job accomplishment that has contributed to a more effective and efficient Sheriff’s Office. Four members of the agency were honored with this award. They are Correctional Officer Ryan Jackson, Deputy Secretary Arla Folbrecht, Patrol Sergeant Dennis Walston, and Communications Sergeant Christine Churchill.
Finally, on Tuesday, February 17th, the Sheriff's Office will be bringing before the County Board a deputy and three civilians for life-saving efforts that occurred at the scene of a crash on State Highway 33 at Dakota Road. Deputy Michael Morell and Citizens Donald Wellnitz, Timothy Mader, and Rebecca Mader will all be honored for their work in saving the life of one of the drivers in the crash.
