Arrest after leg found at Warnimont Park

A severed lake found at a park in Cudahy led investigators to a southside Milwaukee home. DOJ personnel were at the house for about 24 hours. This is being investigated as a homicide.

A person of interest is in custody after a severed human leg was found at Warnimont Park in Cudahy on Tuesday, April 2.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, a homicide investigation is now open. It was previously considered a death investigation.

The leg, found along Lake Michigan east of the park's golf course, led investigators to a home on Milwaukee's south side. The sheriff's office said that home is believed to be connected to the homicide investigation.

Person of interest in custody after leg found

A person of interest is in custody related to the human leg that was found at Warnimont Park in Cudahy on Tuesday, April 2.

Investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Justice were at that home throughout the day on Friday and removed boxes and bags of evidence. Neighbors told FOX6 News the sheriff's office showed up Thursday afternoon; investigators have been there since.

The investigation is ongoing.
