"I can't believe he's still alive:" Cat named "Simba" found shot through the head with arrow

ARKANSAS (WITI) -- Fayetteville Animal Services workers in Arkansas were able to save the life of a male cat named "Simba" -- shot through the head with an arrow. The cat underwent surgery, and the arrow was successfully removed, FOX6's sister stationKFSM in Arkansas reports.

"I can't believe he's still alive," Anthony Rankin, manager of the Animal Services Program for the city of Fayetteville said.

The call for the injured cat came in around 9:00 a.m. By 9:30, the cat was under the care of veterinarians. By 10:10 a.m., Simba was out of surgery.

KFSM reports Simba's owner is in Florida, and a neighbor was asked to come over daily to take care of him. The neighbor reportedly found the cat wounded Wednesday, January 21st and called Fayetteville Animal Services for help.

Most of the damage to the cat is in its sinus passages, KSFM reports.

Fayetteville police and Animal Services officials are working together to find the person responsible for what happened to Simba.
