BROWN DEER -- A small police incident in Brown Deer this past weekend is now getting attention worldwide. Brown Deer Police Chief Michael Kass says this story is entertaining, and might make folks laugh, but he says he doesn't want to discourage others from speaking up.
This all began as a simple report on the Brown Deer Police Department's "blotter."
It's now water cooler conversation across the country.

"I think the story is entertaining," Chief Kass said.
Chief Kass has taken phone calls this week from folks who work with news websites as far away as the United Kingdom.
"The story wasn't out out there to try to embarrass anybody," Chief Kass said.
The short summary in the weekend blotter indicates an 82-year-old woman called police because she thought she heard someone chanting "ISIS is good, ISIS is great" while having sex in her apartment complex.

"An officer went and spoke to her about her concerns and advised her that if she heard it again to give us a call. She could not pinpoint where it was coming from," Chief Kass said.
The incident has gone viral.
"She's gotta be hearing it wrong," Kris Mesheski said.

Mesheski lives across the street from the apartment complex. She says she's not worried about ISIS sympathizers in her Brown Deer neighborhood.
"It's a pretty quiet building," Mesheski said.
Chief Kass says they're taking the complaint seriously.

"We encourage people that if they see something, to say something. So you know, we don't discredit the story. We investigated it the best we could with the knowledge we have," Chief Kass said.
Chief Kass says he thinks the incident has been blown a little out of proportion -- but given the country's heightened state of alert...
"Who's to say where a potential terrorist cell is located? I can't dismiss that there would never be one in Brown Deer, so we do take all of these serious and we do want people to report suspicious things," Chief Kass said.

Chief Kass says the elderly woman who made the complaint has some physical ailments -- and that may have affected what she was hearing vs. the reality of the situation.
