WIND LAKE (WITI) -- The Racine County Dive Team on Monday evening, June 23rd was called out to Wind Lake -- where they recovered a man's body.

The Dive Team was called out to the area near the Wind Lake public boat launch.

The initial call was for a body in the water.

The call was later changed to the recovery of a body in Wind Lake.

"After 5:00, we got a call from a boater stating they see what they thought was a body," Wind Lake Fire Chief Rob Robins said.

Robins says a man's body was discovered in water about 10 to 12 feet deep.

The presence of fire boats in the lake, and squad cars along the shore eventually caught the eye of neighbors.

Joshua Misiak lives across the street from the scene.

"With the presence that's down there -- it's something big. It's horrible. Any kind of recovery is not good -- because someone lost their life," Misiak said.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office tells FOX6 News the body recovered is that of a 34-year-old Waterford man.

Why the body was in the water, and what caused the man's death remains under investigation.

Officials say at first glance, they don't believe foul play to be a factor -- but that will need to be confirmed by the Medical Examiner's Office.

An autopsy is being scheduled.
