Janesville woman arrested for 5th OWI, 5 children in vehicle
DANE COUNTY - A 44-year-old woman from Janesville was arrested on Jan. 1 by the Wisconsin State Patrol DeForest Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense, with five children in the vehicle under the age of 16.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, around 4:30 p.m. a trooper stopped a vehicle for a violation. When contact was made with the driver, signs of impairment were observed.
Standardized field sobriety tests were completed and the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated 5th offense with a passenger under 16.

The driver was taken to a hospital for a legal blood draw before being transported to jail, where she was booked without incident. The five children were released to a responsible party.
