Joe Fadness leaving Wisconsin GOP to join Gov. Walker's presidential campaign
MADISON — Wisconsin Republican Party executive director Joe Fadness is leaving his position to join Scott Walker's presidential campaign.
The state party announced the move on Monday. Mike Duffey will take over as director of the state GOP.
Fadness will be in charge of running the national ballot access program to qualify Walker for election in each presidential primary contest.
Fadness began his political career as an intern for Walker in 2003 when he was Milwaukee County executive. He worked on his 2010 gubernatorial campaign and then served a year in his official office. Fadness had been state party director since January 2013.
Duffey previously served as Wisconsin state director for John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.
