According to the Associated Press, Kate, the princess of Wales, says she has completed chemotherapy and will return to some public duties in the coming months. The 42-year-old wife of Prince William is expected to undertake a light program of engagements until the end of the year.
LONDON - Kate, the princess of Wales, has revealed that she completed chemotherapy and will return to some public duties in the coming months.
The 42-year-old wife of Prince William is expected to undertake a light program of engagements until the end of the year.
Kate announced in March that she was being treated for an undisclosed type of cancer.

Kate attended a ceremonial birthday parade for her father-in-law King Charles III in June, and the following month presented the men’s winner’s trophy at the Wimbledon tennis championships.

The couple put out a joint statement on social media.
"Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus," the statement read in part. "Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes."
"Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life," the statement continued.

Kate Middleton announced her cancer battle in a video message she posted back in March.
"It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful," she said in a video released by the palace.
Princess Kate makes 1st appearance since diagnosis
Kate Middleton, Princess Catherine of Wales, made her first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis on Saturday at the Trooping the Colour celebration for her father-in-law, King Charles III. Josh Rom joined LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow to discuss the significance of the ceremony and of seeing the king and princess.
"In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful; however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."
What kind of cancer does Kate Middleton have?
The princess did not specify what type of cancer she had, only mentioning that it was discovered during planned abdominal surgery.
"I am well and getting stronger everyday by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirits," she continued. "Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too."
Dr. Greg Marchand, an OBGYN and advisory board member for the American College of Surgeons, says "it's difficult to speculate" what kind of cancer Kate Middleton has been diagnosed with, but it's likely Stage 1.
"Cancer is going to be staged usually into four stages, and the first stage is going to be when the cancer hasn't really moved anywhere, it hasn't invaded any other organ systems," said Marchand on FOX 5's Live Zone. "Most cancers that are caught early and can be treated with medical and surgical means have very good outcomes."
