Kenosha Co. residents dig out from nine inches of snow

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha County residents may be nursing sore muscles after digging out from as much as nine inches of snow from the most recent storm.

"I was hoping it would be like last year where we only had three inches all winter," said Kenosha resident Diane George.

Fortunately for George, her snow blower started up right away. Though she admits it's been so long, she had to bust out the manual.

The snowfall seemed to take some by surprise. Buried cars had to be dug out while driveways were shoveled and then shoveled again.

Most schools in Kenosha County stayed open throughout the storm. But kids in Paddock Lake were given a snow day. They took advantage of the time to up and down and up and down on Westosha's sledding hills.

Sheriff's Deputies in Kenosha County responded to more than 50 crashes Thursday night into Friday. There were more than 100 in the last 36 hours.
