KENOSHA, Wis. - Kenosha police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2022 at 52nd Street and 19th Avenue.
Officials say the shooting happened shortly before 4 a.m. There is one confirmed fatality – and three other people were wounded. Two of those victims are in serious condition – one has non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, around 4 a.m. officers responded to reports of multiple shots being fired in the parking lot of a local establishment. Police arrived to find vehicles fleeing the scene and people running from the parking lot.
Police located several victims on the scene – two 27-year-old men, a 23-year-old man, and a 24-year-old woman.
Despite lifesaving first aid rendered by police, one victim died on the scene. The other victims were transported to area hospitals. One is in critical condition, another in serious condition, and the third suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
All the victims are believed to be residents of Illinois. Names are not being released at this time.
Police do not have anyone in custody, however, they do not believe this to be a random act and feel there is no continued threat to our community regarding this incident.
