Kia issued a recall of 74,469 Sorento model vehicles due to a software error that can cause a loss of low-beam headlights and taillights.

The recall covers 2024-2025 Sorento cars, 2025 Sorento Hybrid, and 2025 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid vehicles.

Consumer Reports noted that the software issue is in the Body Domain Control Unit, which is affecting the vehicle’s lights.

This problem causes the Sorento models to fail compliance requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
