Kohl's taking on high-profile assignment: Sponsor of the Academy Awards

MENOMONEE FALLS -- Kohl's is taking on a high-profile assignment.

Officials with the Menomonee Falls-based retailer has confirmed it will be the sponsor for the Academy Awards.

Kohl's will replace JC Penney, which has sponsored the event for the last 14 years.

Kohl's has also launched "The Official Oscars Challenge." It is a Facebook-based game that allows folks to cast their votes, with a chance to win Kohl's gift cards, DVDs and Oscar memorabilia.

The grand prize is a red carpet trip to the 2017 Oscars.
