Latest: 1 dead, 1 injured after crash at 27th and Wells in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee fire officials confirm one person has died at the scene of a crash at 27th and Wells just west of the downtown area. At least one other person was injured.

It happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 21st.

According to police, one vehicle was traveling west on Wells and disregarded a red light. The second vehicle was traveling south on 27th Street and collided with the first vehicle in the intersection.

A 64-year-old woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles received several fatal injuries.

MFD provided medical attention for the victim, but she died on the scene.
