Lend a helping...HAM! Hunger Task Force looking for a few good hams this holiday season!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Hunger Task Force is teaming up with 102.9 The HOG, SVA Certified Public Accountants and Sherwin Industries for the Lend A Helping Ham program. Milwaukeeans are being asked to remember the reason for the season by hamming it up and feeding a family facing hard times this holiday. Fresh, donated hams will be delivered to local pantries that will get them to families in need to serve as the centerpiece for a holiday meal.

There are several ways to donate:

A current count of donated hams appears on the Hunger Task Force I-94 freeway signboard through the end of December. Ham donations are totaled and approved by SVA Certified Public Accountants.

“This time of year really brings out Milwaukee’s strength. We face bitter cold temperatures and messy roads and keep moving forward. When we are reminded that we have neighbors who are going without this holiday season we rally and give what we can to spread the holiday spirit," Sherrie Tussler, Hunger Task Force Executive Director said.
