Looking for work? Miller Park 2-day job fair looks to fill openings for parking cashiers
MILWAUKEE -- We're still months away from baseball season, but Miller Park is already supporting their home team but bolstering their roster -- including parking cashiers. A two-day job fair held February 16th and 17th, is looking to hire 100 competent, police, and friendly people for the position.
"We're the first and last campaign of a guests' visit," said Mark Mock, Impark.
It's a major part of the game day roster that doesn't take the field. Instead, they're outside the stadium helping you get in.
"Typically have been 60 to 80, to sometimes 100 people out there working. Both on the traffic direction side and on the cashier side," said Mock.
"I actually miss it. I actually want to do it again," said Allan Fox, applying for parking position.
Allan Fox
Allan Fox, a veteran traffic parking employee, is employing for a part-time position.
"I want to stay active. I want to stay on my feet and keep my mind clear and do my job," Fox said.
Inside an empty Miller Park, there's a great view of the 43,000 seats. Parking is a problem though, as they have to get 43,000 people into just 12,500 spots.
"You've got to keep your mind clear and listen to every single voice that comes out of these cars and if you don't pay attention you're going to end up getting hurt," said Fox.
In order to do the job well, is it required to be a fan of the team?
Mark Mock
"They don't have to be a fan, but obviously we want them to be a fan of the Brewers," said Mock.
For these people, game time stats when the first car shows up.
We're happy to announce Allan Fox was hired on the spot, and he accepted a position with Impark.
