Loved ones remember temple priest, shooting victim Prakash Singh
OAK CREEK -- Those who knew 39-year-old Prakash Singh are mourning his death following Oak Creek's Sikh Temple shooting. Singh was one of six who lost their lives Sunday morning in a deadly shooting rampage. Police say Wade Michael Page entered the temple and opened fire, before Oak Creek police brought him down outside of the temple. A temple official told FOX6 News Singh was a temple priest.
Coming to grips with Singh's death was difficult for his friend, Gurpuneet Dhillon.
"I didn't believe anything that was going on. It was just hard for me to believe it was actually happening," Dhillon said.
Dhillon says Singh had a positive influence on his life, and inspired him in many ways.
"He made me want to basically go and help out and serve. He would always help me out for any type of service that needed to be done in the temple," Dhillon said.
The Sikh Temple's secretary, Inderjeet Dhillon, said Singh was a priest and took care of senior citizens at the temple.
"They've been really good people, very hard workers, very honest people, very religious people, and it's sad they are no more here," Dhillon said.
