Low ham donations threaten holiday meals
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Hunger Task Force and 102.9 The HOG are asking Milwaukeeans to help out families facing hard times this holiday. That's because there is concern that the goal of 1,000 hams won’t be met. Currently there are only 65 hams in the Hunger Task Force freezer.
Donating a ham to serve as the centerpiece for a holiday family meal is easy. All it takes is a $15 donation online at hungertaskforce.org, or you can drop off the real deal in person at the Hunger Task Force office located at 201 S. Hawley Court, just off I-94, west of Miller Park. Holiday office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – noon.
A current count of donated hams appears on the I-94 freeway signboard as well as online at hungertaskforce.org through the end of December.
