Badgers fans in Madison celebrate victory over Wildcats



MADISON (WITI) -- Wisconsin Badgers fans celebrated on State Street in Madison Saturday night, April 4th -- after the team's victory over previously undefeated Kentucky. After the final buzzer, it was madness in Madison as Badgers fans spilled out onto State Street.

"It's amazing! It's like a dream come true," said one Badgers fan.

"We finally beat Kentucky!" said another.

"I'm so excited! I love the Badgers," another fan said.

It's been a long time coming...

"I expect them to win. I believe in them. They're amazing," said Josh Sendelbach.

Madison police say there were no significant issues Saturday night -- issuing this statement:


Wisconsin will play Duke on Monday, April 6th in the NCAA Tournament's championship game. Badgers fans are hoping for another party on State Street Monday night following what they hope is a big Badgers victory. Duke is 34-4 on the season and is a #1 seed. The #1 seed Badgers are 36-3. The teams face off Monday evening at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
