James Trice
RACINE -- 19-year-old James Trice of Racine faces a couple of drug charges after being pulled over by Racine County sheriff's deputies on Wednesday, September 9th. Trice is charged with possession with intent to deliver or manufacture THC and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the criminal complaint, deputies pulled Trice over near Kinzie Ave. and Columbia St. in Racine. During that stop, one of the deputies "observed the odor of fresh marijuana emanating from the vehicle."
The complaint indicates Trice told the deputies "there was no illegal contraband in the vehicle." But a search of Trice's vehicle turned up several "wrapped baggies of green, leafy material," which the deputy recognized as marijuana. Trice was then placed under arrest.
According to the criminal complaint, when a tow truck driver came to remove Trice's vehicle from the neighborhood, the driver "stepped out of (Trice's) vehicle exclaiming, 'Man, I'm going to get a contact high.'"
If convicted, Trice faces up to five years in prison.
