Man accused of stealing from his grandmother, then bought what?

Benjamin June

RACINE (WITI) -- A 35-year-old Racine man is accused of stealing his grandmother's debit card to buy UFC tickets, a Crossfit membership and food. Now, Benjamin June faces multiple eight felony charges of personal ID theft and one more count of theft.

According to the criminal complaint, Caledonia police were sent to June's mother's home on January 31st to "take a report of identity theft by use of credit card."

The complaint indicates Raejean June told officers several transactions in a joint account she holds with her mother were made without her knowledge over the course of at least two years. Those transactions negatively impacted Raejean June's mother (Benjamin's grandmother) and "were linked to her son, Benjamin."

The complaint says the fraudulent purchases include automatic withdrawals from a checking account, a Crossfit membership, tickets to a UFC fight in Las Vegas, Sony Playstation and pizza from a couple different  restaurants. The amount stolen totaled more than $3,000.

When asked about the transactions, Benjamin June told officers it was "an accurate account of what he has charged to his grandmother's account." He told officers "he made "about half" of the transactions with his grandmother's permission, but did not ask every time because 'when he asked his grandma for money, she always said yes.'"

If convicted, June faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
