Man arrested, charged in connection with Racine home invasion, sexual assault
RACINE -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a Racine home invasion during which a 69-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.
It happened on Saturday, December 12th shortly before 5:00 a.m. at a home near Martin Luther King Drive and Hamilton Street in Racine.
Police say responding officers learned a suspect forcibly entered the home and sexually assaulted the woman.
Dexter Swanagan is facing two counts of second degree sexual assault, aggravated battery, burglary to an occupied residence and felony intimidation.
DNA evidence led police to Swanagan.
Police say Swanagan has been in custody since December 17th due to pending drug charges.
Swanagan will be in court on February 3rd for his preliminary hearing in this case.
