Man arrested for third OWI after motorcycle crash

MILWAUKEE -- A 40-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for allegedly driving drunk after he crashed his motorcycle early Thursday morning, August 23rd.

The crash happened on westbound I-894 at the Loomis Rd. on-ramp shortly before 2 a.m.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department says Daniel Laack went off the ramp and traveled about 20 yards through the grass before overturning and coming to a stop. Laack apparently told deputies he remembered nothing of the crash.

Laack was taken to a hospital to be treated for cuts to his face, broken ribs and back pain.

Laack was arrested for operating while intoxicated and cited for failure to maintain control of vehicle. His prior OWI convictions were in September 1990 and March 1996.

If convicted on this third offense, Laack faces up to one year in jail.
