Man could be close to plea deal in Skout.com sexual assault case
WAUKESHA -- Daniel Schmidt -- the 21-year-old man accused of using the social networking site "Skout" to hook up with a 13-year-old boy could be close to a plea deal. Schmidt's court hearing Tuesday, August 14th was delayed.
Schmidt is charged with second degree sexual assault of a child.
Schmidt's attorney says they hope to get a global resolution in the case -- indicating they are talking with the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office regarding a potential plea deal.
Schmidt pleaded not guilty on Thursday, August 2nd to multiple criminal charges including child pornography, maintaining a drug trafficking place and manufacturing and delivering THC.
Schmidt waived his right to a preliminary hearing -- and was bound over for trial.
Schmidt had earlier pleaded not guilty on Friday, June 15th to the second degree sexual assault of a child charge.
