Man enters Fort Myers Police Department brandishing machete

FORT MYERS, Florida -- A bizarre situation unfolded Wednesday, October 3rd at the Fort Myers Police Department when a man came in with a machete.

Surveillance video of the police station lobby on Wednesday morning shows the man enter the police office -- when he asked to speak with an officer before sitting down.

Two officers came through a door... and noticed the man was carrying a silver machete.

The man stood up and brandished the machete at the officers, investigators say.

Police jumped into action and quickly subdued the suspect.
