Man in critical condition after falling 20 feet over balcony's railing at Bayshore Town Center
GLENDALE (WITI) -- What police are calling a tragic accident occurring at the Bayshore Town Center has left a 21-year-old man in critical condition. Glendale police say 21-year-old Dustin Strzelecki was taken by helicopter to Froedtert Hospital late Monday, January 12th after he fell 20 feet over a balcony's railing.
Glendale police say at this point, there is no indication of foul play in this case.
The incident occurred after a holiday party that took place inside the iPic Theaters. Glendale police and North Shore Fire officials responded to the scene around 9:19 p.m. Monday.
Dustin Strzelecki was found unconscious at the base of a stairwell in the rotunda.
FOX6 News has learned Strzelecki played football when he was in high school in Silver Lake, and he works at Toppers Pizza.
It is unclear at this point what caused Strzelecki to fall over the railing, landing on the bottom stairs of the rotunda.
"Our crew found a male in his 20s and due to the severity of his injuries requested Flight for Life to Froedtert," North Shore Fire Lt. Dan Tyk said.
Paramedics worked on Strzelecki, and police say he was stabilized before he was transported to Froedtert, but North Shore Fire officials say his injuries were extremely critical.
Glendale police say they are interviewing witnesses, and working to determine whether alcohol played a role in this incident.
We're told there is surveillance video of the incident, but because the camera was so far away from where it happened, it's difficult to see exactly what occurred.
