MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that happened around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20th at the intersection of 17th and Wells Streets.
A 25-year-old woman was walking northbound across Wells Street when she was struck by a westbound car. The vehicle did not stop after hitting the woman and was last seen westbound on Wells. The victim was taken to a hospital where she continues to receive treatment for serious injuries.
The striking vehicle is described as possibly being a gray or silver Chevy Lumina that may have front-end or windshield damage. Surveillance photos captured the vehicle before the crash. The vehicle in question is traveling left to right across the frame.

"Our Campus Ministry and International Education staff members are with the student in the hospital and we are working to provide her and her family every available resource. We have often said that it is in times of adversity when our close campus community is at its best, and we ask once again that we come together to support one another. We also ask that you please support our student and those closest to her in prayer, and remember that we have numerous resources on campus to assist you. Our Counseling Center, Residence Life and Student Affairs staff are available to meet and talk with you as needed."
