Marquette officials say suspect in custody following sexual assault of student
MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University officials say a suspect is in custody in connection with the sexual assault of a student Saturday night, September 29th.
Marquette officials said in a statement just after 9:30 p.m., a student walking in the 2100 block of West Wells Street reported that a man approached her and inappropriately touched her.
The student was able to flee and contacted the Department of Public Safety, who responded immediately.
Milwaukee police were contacted and are investigating.
Marquette officials had described the suspect as a black man around 21 years old, with a thin build, 6'1" to 6'2" tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds. The man was reportedly wearing a camouflage jacked with lime accents and jeans.
