Marquette University police issue safety alert after attempted armed robbery reported near campus

MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University’s Department of Public Safety is warning students to be alert — after an attempted armed robbery in downtown Milwaukee near campus. It happened around 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 near 19th and Kilbourn.

According to officials,two subjects approached the two victims on foot. A male subject displayed a firearm in his waistband and asked for money. No property was given.

The subjects fled the area on foot.

Police are looking for a man and a woman -- both in their late 20s. The man is described as 6'03" tall, 190 pounds, with shoulder length braided hair. The woman is described as 5'07" tall, 120 pounds with shoulder length hair.
