Mascot madness unfolds in West Allis to combat hunger

It's not every day you see the Klement's Racing Sausages, McGruff the Crime Dog and Bango all hanging out at the same place. But they were Wednesday morning. They gathered to combat hunger in southeast Wisconsin.

Combat Hunger is an annual event put on by the Hunger Task Force and 102.9 The Hog. Last year, the event brought in 61 tons of food -- and the goal is to beat that in 2011.

All kinds of non-perishable food items are needed. That includes canned soups, peanut butter, boxed cereal and baby formula.
"Food for families goes on through the end of the year. Anytime you're in a grocery store and you see that food for families box that says free and local on it make sure to drop food in that box," said Scott Marshall of the Hunger Task Force.
