Meijer donates 84,000 pounds of food to Hunger Task Force
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Meijer announced its first major philanthropic effort in the greater Milwaukee community on Tuesday, November. It established a commitment to helping food banks by donating two semi-trucks and approximately 84,000 pounds of food to Hunger Task Force.
The Meijer donation will enable the food bank to continue distributing much-needed food to 80 food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters in and around Milwaukee County.
Meijer is expanding into Wisconsin and has announced plans to open stores in Grafton, Kenosha, Oak Creek, Sussex, Waukesha and Wauwatosa.
