Milwaukee archbishop installation set for Tuesday, Jan. 14
MILWAUKEE - The Archdiocese of Milwaukee announced on Wednesday, Jan. 8 that the Most Reverend Jeffrey Grob will be officially installed as the 12th Archbishop of Milwaukee on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 14.
The installation is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson Street, in Milwaukee. The Papal Nuncio to the United States, Christophe Cardinal Pierre, will be in attendance on behalf of Pope Francis.
A news release says Archbishop-Designate Grob will be led by Cardinal Pierre and Apostolic Administrator Jerome Listecki to the ‘cathedra’ (archbishop’s seat of authority) and will be seated, completing his Installation as the 12th Archbishop of Milwaukee. This step additionally represents one of Listecki’s last acts in his role as the retiring 11th archbishop of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee civic and religious leaders will greet Archbishop Grob in his new role as shepherd of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. A Mass will then be celebrated, with the added uniqueness of petitions being delivered multi-lingually and cultural representatives of Catholics across the archdiocese presenting symbolic gifts to the new archbishop and gifts for the poor.
