MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Snow is expected to fall in southeast Wisconsin on Tuesday, February 26th, and some businesses spent Monday getting ready for the next storm.
On Monday, the work at Milwaukee's Holtz Garden Center was split between priming the plants and preparing snow plows ahead of the pending precipitation.
"We're getting ready. We're getting pumped up!" John Schmidt said.
After a slow start to this snow season, Schmidt says the past few weeks have helped put the eight plows to work primarily in commercial lots. Schmidt says Tuesday's snow event could present a challenge, as it is expected to begin sometime around the evening rush.
"There's traffic problems just getting to the locations where we have to plow. Then there's cars on the lot, so you just gotta be ten times more careful," Schmidt said.
Also getting ready for the impending snowfall was John Durst. For more than 55 years, Milwaukee's Durst Auto Body has been fixing up cars damaged via winter driving.
"Soon as you get the snow, you know you're gonna get an influx of work. It's gonna come at you kinda hot and fast," Durst said.
Durst suggests drivers stay slow in the snow.
However, for those unable to avoid a crash, Durst says he will clear some space as his crew continues to catch up on the collisions caused by the most recent significant snowfall.
"We're starting to get more in of jobs that are from insurance companies and so forth so that'll keep us busy for quite some time," Durst said.
