Milwaukee area suburbs happy to save money on snow removal
GRAFTON -- The New Year's weekend weather forecast has those handling the budget for the Village of Grafton celebrating, because the savings keep on rolling in for their snow removal budget.
People in Southeast Wisconsin thought they would have snow by New Year's, but are seeing rain instead. Grafton Village Trustee, Richard Rieck, says Grafton is saving money on fuel, overtime and supplies thanks to the absence of snowfall. "We buy enough in the beginning to get us through the year, and if we don't use it, it's going to help us for next year," says Rieck.
Germantown's Village Administrator the lack of snowfall is helping the village build up cash reserves.
