18th and Keefe arson, Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police are investigating an arson that damaged a home on the city's north side on Wednesday night, Jan. 15. Emergency crews were called to the scene near 18th and Keefe around 10:55 p.m.

What we know:
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found heavy fire conditions in the front of the house on the first floor. All occupants of the building had self-evacuated except for an adult occupant of the second floor who was attempting to escape via the front porch roof with heavy fire conditions beneath.
The occupant was brought to the ground, unharmed, by first arriving Milwaukee firefighters.
There were five occupants in the residence; a 30-year-old, a 19-year-old, a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 4-month-old. None of the occupants suffered injuries.

One Milwaukee firefighter suffered a knee injury carrying ladders on the icy street.

What's next:
The house sustained extensive damage and is uninhabitable. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
This incident is currently under investigation and has been determined to be arson. A 56-year-old was arrested.
Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
