Milwaukee Business Journal: Bucks arena opening could be delayed until 2018
MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Business Journal is reporting the Milwaukee Bucks will complete the arena project one year later than they previously announced and now target an October 2018 opening, said co-owner Mike Fascitelli.
Bucks owners and executives have said for months they planned to break ground this fall in downtown Milwaukee and open by fall 2017. Fascitelli said Tuesday the team will start construction in spring 2016.
Fascitelli made the remarks Tuesday at the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Downtown Milwaukee Renaissance luncheon at The Pfister Hotel.
The Milwaukee Bucks issued the following statement on Tuesday:
"Still targeting 2017. We know it's very aggressive and challenging, with many variables outside of our control, but it remains our target."
