Milwaukee Co. Sheriff's Deputy hurt after losing control of motorcycle, crashing

GREENFIELD (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy is recovering after losing control of a motorcycle and crashing on Sunday morning, August 17th.

Officials say around 10:45 a.m., the deputy was part of a Sheriff's Office Motorcycle Unit engaged in an escort operation. The deputy was preparing to close down a freeway ramp on I-43/894 westbound at S. 60th St., but lost control of the motorcycle.

The 39-year-old deputy is a 16-year veteran on the agency -- and was taken to Froedtert Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.  Sheriff David Clarke met with family members at the hospital.
