Crash on Milwaukee's north side; child dead, driver arrested
MILWAUKEE - A child died in a crash on Milwaukee's north side Saturday, Oct. 28.
It happened near 76th and Bobolink shortly after 4 p.m. Police said a 12-year-old died at the scene. Two other people, the 30-year-old driver and a 4-year-old passenger, were taken to a hospital.
Police say the 30-year-old driver was traveling south on 76th Street at a high rate of speed when they drove off the roadway at the southwest intersection of 76th and Florist.
The vehicle drove approximately 300 feet across the lots of two businesses before collided with a tree on Bobolink

FOX6 News at the scene found a car with significant front end damage that had left the roadway. Police said the driver lost control of the car and hit a pole.
MPD said the driver was also taken into custody, and the district attorney's office will review charges.
