Milwaukee Royal Heat Dance Team all smiles at SC competition after help from FOX6 viewers
Milwaukee's Royal Heat Dance Team was able to perform in South Carolina after FOX6 viewers helped to raise more than $8,000 to send them to the competition.
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee's Royal Heat Dance Team made it safely to and from a competition in Greenville, South Carolina over the weekend.
The youth team was sent scrambling last week when the motorbus company hired to get them there canceled last-minute due to a driver shortage. Instead, the team carpooled – and was all smiles during the trip.
In September, FOX6 News viewers came through to support a fundraiser for the team. More than $8,000 came in after FOX6 shared that they were short on funding to make the trip happen.
The team's coach, Gloria McCoy, tells FOX6 News that any additional money raised will go toward the team's needs. The team is also set to compete in Iowa in late October!
